As a hobby, I color my own vans (shoes) and wear them. Right now I use sharpies and "Vans spray", but in the rain, the colors sometimes smear. Does anyone know of any markers that I could use that would NOT be affected by water/rain???

I have some black suede boots. I sprayed them with two coats of waterproofing spray (the type you buy in the shoe store). Will it be safe to wear them in the rain now or should I still try to avoid getting them wet?

my school is having a ski trip in two weeks and I just recently found out that we are going to do alot of snow playing, and snow boots are optional. I have no water proof shoes. I only have sneakers and leather boots, which the sellsperson said is water proof and can be worn in the rain. my mom is not really keen on the idea of buying waterproof shoes, since we spent big bucks on my other ski stuff. will wearing my sneakers be a bad idea? or vice versa for the leather boots?

I don’t know what other people do… my jacket has a hood and my pants they are both waterproof. But I cant be walking in rubber boots for exercise… what do other people who like to walk/run in the rain do? Do you just get your shoes wet and dry them or is there special shoes or what is the solution?

Specifically looking for ideas for a pair of shoes that are all of the following-
-casual
-waterproof, can wear in rain.
-comfortable for long wear: not a really high heel or anything.
-trendy, stylish
-looks good with black leggings
I suppose boots would be ok, but all of the cute ones are not good for rain. What about shoes? Any ideas?

Jenn- thanks. I couldn’t find it when I googled it. What kind of shoes are they? Can you post a link to a pic?

My uggs got wet from the rain, but it’s not soaked. Only the top part (where the toes are) got a little damp. I’m going to go get the water repellent spray, but do I have to clean the shoes before spraying the waterproof spray? I don’t really want to soak them and wash it when it’s not really that wet.

I need an all black, waterproof, running shoe that looks as nice as a dress shoe. It has to be all black. I’m on my feet all day so it needs to have good support. But I’m also running a lot. In the rain, it would be nice to have dry feet. And finally, I want it to look good because I am also a manager and dress in nice cloths.

Is faux leather waterproof? I want shoes to keep my feet dry on rainy days that I can wear any other day of the year… so I hope I can buy faux leather boots and wear them in the rain without them getting destroyed… is this possible? Or do I need to buy the waterproofing stuff?
Thanks in advance

I just got Coach chose, and I really wanted to wear them for tonight. Is it safe to wear them in the rain?
They aren’t waterproofed though, and i don’t have any waterproof stuff.

I just got some tall leather boots, and I want to know what the best way is to waterproof them. I’m going to be walking around in the rain a lot, maybe through puddles. But I don’t want to ruin how they look either. They’re black leather.
Also, I can’t wait for them to dry — I need to be able to wear them days in a row, even if it’s raining…
Do you have experience waterproofing leather shoes? Please tell me all you can!!
Especially important– I really to know how well waterproofing will actually work. My grandma said that when she used to try to waterproof them, they always ended up getting wet and you had to let them dry before you could wear them again… but that was back in the day, so maybe things have changed.

They are pleather with rubber soles. I just need to put something around the seam where it is supposed to be glued (After so many times marching in the rain, the glue dissolves I think). Real waterproofer is out of the question since payday isn’t here yet and I need them tomorrow night. They are all black BTW. Any suggestions?
