i got a pair of sperry boat shoes, and idk i get mixed reactions on whether to wear socks or not. i had a pair of timberland boat shoes and i wore them to work so i obv wore them with socks cause i had to wear khahkis, but i just think they look so awkward with socks on if im wearing them with chino shorts or cargos.. your opinions? i understand some people might think its gross without socks, but its not like i wear them to play bball and sweat all over them lol
i might buy those little thin socks then haha idk! and yes sperrys do rock ;D

Here’s the scenario: I will be backpacking uphill through dense jungle and across savannah for 6 days. I will encounter slippery water crossings, so the shoes either have to come off easily, be waterproof or dry quickly, and also biting insects and snakes. I found these:

I need some new shoes and I don’t know what I should get. Let me describe myself, i’m 5ft 11in, thin (123 lbs) my style is basically preppy/casual (skinny/slim light blue jeans, colorful/pastel t-shirts, button ups) I tried "boat/deck" shoes, but they were uncomfortable (and socks don’t look good with them). I tried some high tops but found them uncomfortable around my ankles. I like white shoes, preferably cheap (i’m a college student "hint hint" LOL but of course, I may try whatever you suggest. I work in a restaurant and walk about 4 or more miles a day, I never sit down and im on my feet for about 8 or more hours a day. And my feet are constantly getting wet so I would need a Waterproof boot or shoe. If you have any suggestions for a good insole for pain in the ball of the foot that would be appreciated.
