I just got a pair of Shimano mountain bike shoes. They come with "waterproof seals" that are supposed to go underneath the sockliner and over the SPD cleat–is it necessary to put them on the shoe if I’m using the shoes for indoor cycling? It seems that if I put them on, it would be difficult to adjust the SPD cleat. Thanks.

I just had a waterproof jacket cleaned at a dry cleaners and I”ve been told I have to apply wax on it, but I don’t know how. The wax (it comes in a tin that looks like a shoe polish tin) was given to me when I purchased the garment.

I want lightweight trail shoes that will go the distance with a light pack. Something PCT or AT-rated. Preferably a good, full-length shank, waterproof (or dries quickly), lightweight shoe (less than 20oz per pair).
I was looking at the Montrail Masochist or the La Sportiva Crosslite bit I don’t think these have good shanks in them and my feet will be bruised to pieces after walking on rocks.

My uggs got wet from the rain, but it’s not soaked. Only the top part (where the toes are) got a little damp. I’m going to go get the water repellent spray, but do I have to clean the shoes before spraying the waterproof spray? I don’t really want to soak them and wash it when it’s not really that wet.

I need an all black, waterproof, running shoe that looks as nice as a dress shoe. It has to be all black. I’m on my feet all day so it needs to have good support. But I’m also running a lot. In the rain, it would be nice to have dry feet. And finally, I want it to look good because I am also a manager and dress in nice cloths.

I want something warm stylish & dry. I grew up in the desert and will be moving somewhere cold & wet in the fall. The last time I went shopping for boots I bought a pair of Barbie snow boots. Ya, it’s been a long time. What should I look for? What times of shoes are both waterproof and warm?

Can anyone recommend me a pair of mountain biking shoes that:
Are waterproof
Have tacky sole grips that won’t slip on wet rocks
That are compatible with the Shimano SPD cleat system
Are not really, really expensive

I just bought my shoes from David’s Bridal, and just turned around and am getting them dyed. It says that after it’s dyed, they are not "waterproof"… Does that mean the dye will run if wet? And what about if you sweat?
Is there anything to spray on the shoes to protect them?
Thanks!!
I’m wearing them with my wedding gown… Has anyone gotten the dye on their gowns?

I have these canvas shoes that I made designs on with sharpie markers, but I want to waterproof them somehow. Is there a certain spray that I can seal them with? I read somewhere not to use one with silicon. Thanks!
I would like to have a spray that can keep the water from smearing my ink. I am worried about oils because I am afraid they would smear my shoes as well as water would.

My biggest problem is finding a pair that are comfortable and waterproof. Cost is a bit of a problem as well. I know different brands and styles work for different people, but just giving me some recommendations is a good starting point. If you know where to find them, that would be great too. Thanks so much!
