Is faux leather waterproof? I want shoes to keep my feet dry on rainy days that I can wear any other day of the year… so I hope I can buy faux leather boots and wear them in the rain without them getting destroyed… is this possible? Or do I need to buy the waterproofing stuff?
Thanks in advance

Whenever I go to concerts, I wear the same pair of converse, and if I meet any of the band members I have them sign the rubber part of my hi-tops. By now, I have some sharpie signatures and some signatures in blue pen and I want to be able to wear them without the signature wiping off. One of the signatures I got is on the toe part of the shoe in black sharpie, and its almost completely wiped off.
Is there anything that I can put on my shoes to waterproof them and make sure the pen and sharpie doesn’t wipe off?

I just got Coach chose, and I really wanted to wear them for tonight. Is it safe to wear them in the rain?
They aren’t waterproofed though, and i don’t have any waterproof stuff.

Waterproofing kits (for shoes or leather) are usually hydrocarbon based liquids which when applied to a material help prevent water damage. One example is: “Canvak, perfect for heavy duty cotton canvas. It is a petroleum based water repellency treatment”. On a molecular level explain why it is correct or incorrect to state that “Canvak repels water.”

So I was wondering what people thought about wearing boat shoes like Timberland or Sperry Top-Siders for the Chicago winter…
I was able to survive last year with just my sneakers but the year before I had to wear boots… how do boat shoes fair in general?

I’m planning on drawing on some plain white shoes for a Christmas gift and I was wondering what supplies I should get?Should I get sharpies or some prisma color pens? Will I need some waterproof sealant? If so,should I put it before or after I draw on the shoe?I have no idea how to begin either so some steps to drawing on shoes would really help. Thanks!

I have started golf this season and everything is WET! My golf shoes are waterproof, but that hasn’t stopped the water. Please help.
Don’t tell me to wear boots or go when it isn’t wet. Thanks for your input though

I’ve made myself a belt and the color is pretty matte. I know shoe polish could shine it up, but I don’t know if that would be a good thing to put on a belt.
Would it come off on my clothing?
Would it be able to keep the leather dye from coming off onto my clothing?
Should I just use a wax meant for waterproofing leather shoes?
